Different Types of Cryptocurrency Wallets:

What is a Cryptocurrency Hardware Wallet?

These cryptocurrency Wallets store your information offline so it cannot be hacked. While it is more expensive than most other wallets, It can be a great investment. A lot of people buy 2-4 hardware wallets to spread the risk of losing one. We recommend storing this in a safety deposit box at your bank or in a very safe and secure place in your home. The downside of these wallets is losing your wallet, be careful! For security, we think these are the best cryptocurrency wallets available.

These are the easiest wallets to use and the most convenient. Most websites will allow for 2-factor authentication through Google, text message, or Authy. This adds a great layer of protection. We always keep some of our Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum and other Altcoins in web-based crypto wallets so we can easily day trade and move funds around.

After extensive searching and reading, still have a few questions.

Ok so I have successfully downloaded Tor and can access silkroad. I am currently trying to use MtGox in order to get my bitcoins, but do I need to use a method such as Dwolla? I started setting up my Dwolla account but it is asking for my SS# and I am not sure if I am going through too much trouble in order to obtain bitcoins to transfer to my SR account. Obviously this is my first time using such programs so I would rather not get screwed over from the beginning. The beginners guide was a little vague and I just want to be sure I get this right. Basically I am having trouble using MtGox, and the beginner's guide and various searches didn't much help me so I'm just looking for a little advice. I DID use the search option but maybe I didn't search hard enough so sorry if this is asked on a daily basis.

Getting Women Naked *and* Empowered through Bitcoin

Before I get started, if you haven't seen it yet, please check out the video (NSFW) I made for the Girls Gone Bitcoin bounty
I have to say that I don't agree with the direction GGBTC is heading. I think that in order for this project to continue being successful, we need to make it a welcoming, sex-positive environment for a broader range of women. We women don't just want to trade bitcoin for cash, or buy lingerie and lipstick. We want to be empowered, entrepreneurial contributors to a beautiful economic explosion of awesomeness.
We need bitcoin to come full circle...stretch its legs and set new boundaries. I propose creating a new subreddit that encompasses a "by the women, for the women" philosophy (men welcome too of course). In addition to gorgeous nude photography for micro-payments, we can share bitcoin educational videos, women's health issues, support bitcoin micro-business ideas through donations, and even raise funds for causes such as Breast Cancer, etc. Neither stripcoin nor pimps further the progression of women's empowerment, so we need to be careful about branding.
I'm personally interested in making the following sexy educational videos:
And thoughts/ideas/feedback? Much appreciated! xo
And because I hate to disappoint

Verify that can decode private key?

It's been a long time since I touched my bitcoin, I've got some stored in StrongCoin, I wanted to send $10USD worth to an exchange, then noticed the fees are almost as much :\ I'm fine to send a bit more but I'm not 100% sure if I recall the pass key it's asking for, there is a warning Please verify you can decode the private key for this address before using it.
Not much else I can notice around to provide directions on that. I probably knew how years ago. Had a quick browse through the subreddit FAQ and didn't see anything there(maybe it's specific to StrongCoin?). Any idea how I can verify before sending to my exchanges wallet so I don't waste my BTC? Considering the transaction fee perhaps I should move it all out of StrongCoin to somewhere else or my own system like I remember having it stored before.

The legal risks of auto-updating wallet software; custodial relationships | Peter Todd | Jan 20 2015

Peter Todd on Jan 20 2015:
I was talking to a lawyer with a background in finance law the other day
and we came to a somewhat worrying conclusion: authors of Bitcoin wallet
software probably have a custodial relationship with their users,
especially if they use auto-update mechanisms. Unfortunately this has
potential legal implications as custodial relationships tend to be
pretty highly regulated.
Why is this? Well, in most jurisdictions financial laws a custodial
relationship is defined as having the ability, but not the right, to
dispose of an asset. If you have the private keys for your users'
bitcoins - e.g. an exchange or "online" wallet - you clearly have the
ability to spend those bitcoins, thus you have a custodial relationship.
However if you can trivially obtain those private keys you can also
argue you have a custodial relationship. For instance StrongCoin was
able to seize funds stolen from OzCoin¹ with a small change to the
client-side Javascript their users download from them every time they
visit the site. Portraying that as "the ability to dispose of an asset"
in a court of law would be pretty easy. Equally on a technical level
this isn't much different from how auto-updating software works.
Now I'm sure people in this audience will immediately point out that by
that logic your OS vendor is also in a custodial relationship - they
after all can push an update that steals everyones' bitcoins regardless
of what local wallet you use. But the law isn't a deterministic
algorithm, it's a political process. Circle is easy to portray as having
a custodial relationship, StrongCoin and Blockchain.info are a little
harder, Android Wallet harder still, Bitcoin Core's multi-party
deterministicly compiled releases even harder.
But ultimately we're not going to know until court cases start
happening. In the meantime probably the best advice - other than getting
out of the wallet business! - is to do everything you can to prevent
losses through malicious auto-updates. Create systems where as many
people as possible have to sign off and review an update before it has
the opportunity to spend user funds. Not having auto-updates at all is a
(legally) safe way to achieve that goal; if you do have them make sure
the process by which an update happens is controlled by more than one
person and there are mechanisms in place to create good audit logs of
how exactly an update happened.
Finally keep in mind that one of the consequences of a custodial
relationship is that some legal authority might try to force you to
seize user funds. StrongCoin made it 100% clear to authorities that they
and sites like them are able to seize funds at will - I won't be
surprised if authorities use that power in the future. The more
automatic and less transparent an update is, the higher the chance some
authority will lean on you to seize funds. So don't make it easy for
yourself to meet those demands.

BTC.com Partners with Kraken to Enable In-Wallet Bitcoin Buying

This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 68%. (I'm a bot)
The company behind one of the largest mining pools and a popular Bitcoin wallet in China, BTC.com, has partnered with the bitcoin exchange Kraken to allow users to buy bitcoin directly from within the BTC.com wallet.
In December 2016, Kraken acquired Chicago-based Glidera, a Bitcoin wallet funding service, which was then rebranded as Kraken Direct.
Kraken Direct lists 11 supported Bitcoin wallets on its website.
In addition to BTC.com, Bitcoin wallets that use the service to sell bitcoin from within their apps are: Airbitz, Multibit, Mycelium, Bitpay, Breadwallet, Bitcoin Direct, Cryptojar, Simple Bitcoin Wallet, Strongcoin and Tokenly Pockets.
Bitcoin.com reported on Breadwallet allowing iPhone users to buy bitcoin via the same Kraken Direct service in March.
With the integration with Kraken Direct, there is a "Buy" option inside the BTC.com wallet app which allows users to buy bitcoin directly without having to leave the wallet.
